Apprenticeship Programme

Our Apprenticeship programme follows a national framework developed with employers. This ensures you obtain the skills and knowledge that are recognised by them and allows you to develop transferable skills within your chosen occupational area.

Training and assessment will be carried out in the workplace and may include attending Leek College on day release.

The Carpentry & Joinery Apprenticeship offers a choice between bench or site joinery and includes:

  • Application of Number and Communication
  • Underpinning knowledge of theory within core units such as safe working practices, setting out, marking out and manufacture of purpose made joinery, first and second fix joinery, roof structures, flooring, use of woodworking machinery and power tools, building methods and technology, technical drawing, CAD. Plus Site supervision and management for higher level qualifications
  • Practical application in your vocational environment or within our fully equipped workshop

Career Prospects

This Apprenticeship is an ideal way to ensure you have the most up to date skills in your field. This ensures you can progress within, or move into, areas such as shop fitting, furniture making, building within the commercial sector and much more.

Salary

Negotiable with the employer and is based on Government guidelines

Up to 3 years

Key Skills, Technical Certificate and NVQ Levels 2 & 3 Construction Diploma Levels 2 & 3
