Apprenticeship Programme
Our Apprenticeship programme follows a national framework developed with employers. This ensures you obtain the skills and knowledge that are recognised by them and allows you to develop transferable skills within your chosen occupational area.
Training and assessment will be carried out in the workplace and may include attending Leek College on day release.
The Children and Young People's Workforce Apprenticeship includes:
- Application of Number and Communication Underpinning knowledge of theory within a set of mandatory units and a vast array of optional units to suit your needs
- Practical application in your vocational environment
- Additional qualifications including The Certificate in Children’s Care Learning and Development, Paediatric First Aid and Employers Rights and Responsibilities
Career Prospects
After completing the Apprenticeship at Level 2, you will become a Nursery Assistant, a Crèche Worker or a Special Needs Assistant. After completing the Advanced Apprenticeship, you will become a qualified Nursery Nurse and can work as a Childminder, Nursery Supervisor, Family Support Worker or a Classroom Assistant.

Negotiable with the employer and is based on Government guidelines
