Apprenticeship Programme
Our Apprenticeship programme follows a national framework developed with employers. This ensures you obtain the skills and knowledge that are recognised by them and allows you to develop transferable skills within your chosen occupational area.
Training and assessment will be carried out in the workplace and may include attending Leek College on day release.
The Engineering Apprenticeship offers a choice between mechanical or electrical and includes:
- Application of Number, Communication and ICT
- Underpinning knowledge of theory within core units such as safe working practices, bench fitting, turning and milling, manufacturing of bespoke components using a range of materials
- Practical application in your vocational environment or within our fully equipped workshop
Career Prospects
Engineering is involved in practically everything that is made. Therefore, after completing this Apprenticeship framework, key career prospects could be working in the mechanical, manufacturing, electrical, electronic or chemical industries. Alternatively, you may wish to continue your studies as the Apprenticeship can lead into a Foundation Degree and beyond.

Negotiable with the employer and is based on Government guidelines
